2008 Going Off..
Hello! How’s your Christmas and holidays? 2 weeks break seems so fast and I’m only left with 1 and a half day before school officially starts again. Darn as it seems, but there’s nothing we can do and just start working on our projects. Projects are indeed irritants, especially you are having a good time enjoying yourselves. Argh..
Family chalet was great last weekend. 3 days 2 nights break was a little too short but better than none. 5 units across Coasta Sands at Pasir Ris with each family with an unit. A good break with Mahjong to play, swimming, bbq and great company.
Cousins with Auntie in the middle!
Swimming with the kids! They are crazy!
Jason & Melissa, both youngest in the family! No 13 and 14!

On the 23rd, we went over to Mr Ong’s place for a mini-gathering. Pre-Christmas party I guess with the class. So nice of him to invite us to his house. So much food to devour on and we were so full right at the end!
It’s really nice to see everyone taking out time to come together I could see the class was enjoying every moment together.
With Mr Ong’s Kids! They are Liverpool fans!
:)

We decided to play some Indian Poker which was totally fun! Laughed our heads off and lecturers also joined in!
More pictures taken!
Last picture taken at the small bridge!

Christmas was spent with Maoists, didn’t head to town this year, crowd was always darn freaking irritating with the sprays. Laughing our heads off as usual.
It’s time to go, Ciaos!
Cheers!
Christmas? New Year?
Time flies as we always said. 2008 is coming to an end so soon. Christmas is approaching alongside with the New Year. How am I spending these days this year is also a big question mark. Oh well, it’s probably another ordinary day like everyday. There’s still school! Quite ridiculous, but there’s nothing we students can do too. Projects are still on my back of mind, I’ve tried not to think of it most of the time. Kind of irritating.
There were quite a number of December babies around the corner. Celebrated with some of my friends weeks ago.
First one, ONG! Simple Sakura dinner with Maoists and his friends. I’ve seen this lad from sec 1 and of course, I spotted this guy on the football field. (where else?) Brilliant player till today.
After which, Minghao!
It was MJ session cum birthday celebration at Jh’s place. Glad to see my dear friend here celebrating his birthday on a MJ table! It’s the first I’ve seen though! Nevertheless, it was simple yet meaningful.
They are a bunch of fun people to be with!
It’s serious matters when it comes to MJ.
The first week of term break is coming an end pretty soon. Oh my, good times always tend to fly uh? What to do? Will be at my family chalet this coming weekend and will be back on Sunday! Finally, a good break. It will be fun! Everyone is so looking forward to it!
Oh yes, for those who commented my previous post, I would like to say: “Thank you very much! Much appreciated.
Small messages can mean so much to me.”
Enjoy the holidays to the fullest!
Cheers!
On 16 Dec 2005..
Today is 16 Dec 2008. 3 years ago, this day was a new chapter for me as I’ve officially became a Cadet Inspector. NPCC was my cca during my time in secondary school and I could still remember, under certain strange cirumstances, I was selected back then into the cca while the demand was very high.
Secondary 1 days were stupid but funny. I almost quited in Secondary 2, while the later 2 years were history. Neither did I expect this, after so many years, I’m still involved in NPCC up till today. It’s fate or I don’t know what, I can feel it was just meant to be.
Let’s share some “glorious” pictures when I was still a coporal or sergeant rank! (Don’t laugh hor!)
This was taken in Sec2. I was the Flag bearer for NDP in school!
The guy (raising flag) was my great buddy till today.

The highest moment in our cadet’s days, Official Opening!
Guard of Honor! With our beloved OC, Ms Yeo.
With my 2 other great buddies!
Real Rifles, mind you.
Of course, during my cadets days, there were more photos taken but you know, I can’t possible upload so many unglam and ugly photos over here, before I appear in some forum for people to laugh at. Haha!
I went on for my O levels and somehow after that, I went for CI course in December 2005.
It was hell of an experience for that 3 weeks. No regrets participating and all these are only experienced once and for all. Great memories left in our minds and up till today, I could still remember the cheers we sang as we marched around the Police Academy.
There you go! Louis Sir is born!

The 3 years flew by so fast and now I’m just looking at my NPCC pictures folder. There were so many events which happened and so many batches of cadets. Honestly, it’s hard to remember all of them, when and where exactly it happened but all I know is that these are valuable interaction and times shared by everyone.
My first ATC being the assistant coordinator of the camp! STRESS!

With my Sec2 cadets at that time, they have graduated!
Ice-skating session for the unit! It was brilliant!
With my Sec4 cadets at that time, they have all moved on with their own lives.
We also attended Firdaus’ graduation ceremony as our Adss family grew bigger. It was a happy event to see Firdaus graduating and I was so glad that he became one of us.
My first overseas trip with the unit as an Instructor. We went to Thailand, Phuket. It was a pleasant break and the 10 hours freaking tiring hike was probably the toughest I’ve ever been! Nevertheless, it was a great experience.
The water was fresh! DRINKABLE!

ATC 2008! With Area 1 Instructors! Enjoyable as usual.
Endau Rompin Trip with my Sec2 squad back then.
Thank God I have the all of you! ![]()

Secondary 1 Orientation! I was required to wear no1 uniform! I was quite lucky! I couldn’t remember how many times I wore that! I’m not being proud here, Hehe.
The following are pictures I took this year..So many pictures taken in which I’ve totally mixed them up as well. Oh well, I have picked some of my favourite ones and I will never be tired seeing them again and again.
My Sec1 cadets when I played this game with them. They are now going to be Sec3 next year.

In uniform! Hoping to see them grow up well and strong!

With my Sec4s! They are a small squad but filled with fantastic personalities among them which I will never forget!
In one of the camps, all of us went crazy!
Snapped by someone, whom I have no idea who?

Cadet Leader Course! The BIG BIG FAMILY!
The last few are my all times favourites! Leave the best for the last!
This photo is brilliant! I forgot why we took that way, but this beats all! Love it right gf? Haha! You know, i know!

Instructors! Thanks to all, our unit is still standing strong. Everyone’ contribution is invaluable.
Somehow, I just love this picture. This was taken in HTA and we just took out our Admiralty Flag and started taking pictures! We didn’t care who was around!
That’s what we are made of!
This award was given to me this year. God darn it, one of my proudest moment in Adss and I appreciate this so much. Still standing strong in my room and this will be with me forever.

Liyana Mam! Our 3 years are up! Today is 16 Dec 2008! Haha! Can’t imagine Adss Npcc Unit without you, like seriously. You’ve been great! Achieved our GOLD as aimed and I do hope our efforts will be maintained!

Last but not least..
The GOLD unit. Nothing can replace this and this is what I’ve been working so hard for over the years. I’m so glad that even though during my cadets days, we didn’t manage to get it, but being an instructor, achieving it makes me extremely happy and delighted. Thank you all.
Okay! Like FINALLY! There are much photos to be uploaded, but it will take a few more hours for me to do that. Above are so much memories during my time in NPCC and the 3 years being an instructor were simply.. I just couldn’t find the right adjective, but you know what I meant. On the side note, I managed to blog this before time stuck 12am then it’s next day already, Haha!
For those who are mentioned or not mentioned, I appreciate you in every way involved. Be it Louis Sir scolding you all, playing with you all or whatsoever, 10 years down the road, if you see me, please say HI to me! It will mean so much to me.
I don’t know what the future lies, but I know Adss Npcc Unit will always have a place in my heart.
Take care people!
Work, Train, Play, Rest, WE ARE THE BEST!
Term Break, “Faster Come!”
Looks like it’s seems like years I’ve last typed an entry over here. Have been busy with school and the stress is inevitably getting higher and bigger as each day passes. Deadlines are there for us to meet but as students like always, we tend to leave things at the last minute. (Maybe that only applies to me) The previous project left me almost dead as I rushed it till 3am in the morning. Tests and projects are just in our minds, at least for mine, which is kind of frustrating at times.
Having said that, this is my last semester and I shouldn’t grumble so much. Instead, I should be pushing myself and putting more efforts in my work than usual. Somehow, I just couldn’t remember what happened the last few weeks. It just flew by like a flash and I did fall ill one of the days.
I spent the weekend playing football. It just made me think lesser when I’m out there fighting for the ball. Once game is over, it is back to the hectic and busy schedule we have. Thinking of this fact, it is kind of sad, isn’t it?
Today was a public holiday and I forced myself to head down to my work. Fortunately, despite all the distractions around me, I managed to complete 2 projects in one day. Not a fantastic achievement but still, the sense of satisfaction is there.
Term break is approaching and I’m really looking forward to it. 2 weeks break is definitely better than none. I got to plan the 2 weeks properly. Family chalet coming up. Maybe Christmas countdown, if there is any.
Alrights, I’m feeling a little tired. One more week to go!
Cheers!
Tough Days Ahead..
2 weeks into the semester and I could feel the pressure. Probably it’s normal for students to feel that way especially in the final third. Weeks are coming and going off quickly, somehow, it’s kind of impossible to even stop and catch a breather.
Projects are another factor which adds to it, or I should say the main factor. What makes it interesting is about the groupings of projects mates. New system in which lecturers would decide on the groupings themselves, leaving us with only luck to depend on. Well, it’s not too bad actually, exciting and thrilling at the same time. Of course, there will pros and cons too. Challenging in certain areas. New mates with new styles and ideas. All these need time to adapt and learn.
Fortunately, things ain’t that bad from my point. Communication is not really a problem and working with new people gives me different experiences too. I guess it’s all up to one’s mentality on how to face these projects, tackle them and eventually solve them. It will never be easy but at least, the very least, I would give it a try and my best shot in everything.
Tough as it may seems, gotta be positive and smile!
I was just chatting with a good friend of mine and I just type this in our conversation.
[18] Maoists Never Back Down says:
this is life.
you want to win something, or own something,
there’s bound to have challenges.
be it obstacles, competitions or whatsoever,
you gotta hack it down.
be confident.
Okay, I sounds very naggy and theoretical above. Like counselling some troubled child or something. But just some thoughts over the past week or so. Oh yes, I have to mention this, I love weekends now! It’s very important especially with 5 days of school! (Others have free days in their timetable!) Rest is ESSENTIAL! More sleep, more time to reorganise my thoughts and charge for the new week coming ahead.
Football is great, cycling was awesome!
Have a good week ahead!
Cheers!
ATC 2008
Every single year, we will have our annual Adventure Training Camp whereby all the schools in the area will come together in a camp in Pulau Ubin and take part in adventure activities organised for the cadets. As for instructors like myself, we are the organisers of the camp, controlling the whole camp from head to toe, making sure the welfare of cadets at all times and at the same time, enjoying everyone’s company in the 3D2N camp. Due to school, I missed the first day of camp with other instructors. Along with Caroline, Liyana, Mas, Jiatian, WeiZhan, ShuaiQuan, Vincent and Kangwei. We reached the campsite at almost 12 midnight, due to the delay of boats at night.
Taken in the Bus!
The so called “Family Photo!” Haha!
All the Guys instructors waiting impatiently at the Jetty!
By the time we reached campsite, it’s already lights out and cadets are already asleep in their respective tents. Being the logistics school, we gotta prepare the logistics for the next day. With my best instructors, Liyana, Caroline and Fridaus, we managed to get everything in control. The next morning, I was glad to see my cadets. Could see that they were happy to see us too!
Doing PT!
Going for Treasure Hunt!
Campfire was fun! The climax of the whole camp while we kept singing and singing! It was always the highest point where the instructors just went crazy, without any image on mind!
With Mas!
All the instructors! After the campfire!
The last day was Area Cleaning and I was busy the whole morning. Cleaning, counting and keeping the logistics were very important. Thanks to all the instructors and cadets, we were able to clear all the stuff at an early time.
We had some time and decided to snap some pictures! AREA 1!
Some cadets from Hillgrove (Other Area) came over and took pictures with me! Hahaha! Very nice of them!
Last but not least, my beloved unit! Admiralty!
After which, it’s home sweet home! I lacked of sleep!
Always, always fun to come together, helping one another in someway or another.
I’m just glad that I have such opportunities.
Cheers!
New Semester Starts!
School officially starts tomorrow! New modules, probably new lecturers. But I guess the rest will be same. Definitely, it will be tough and challenging as usual. Or maybe it might be a more rough one. Packed my bag and realised that I’ve not seen my bag and pencil box for quite sometime.
Timetable could have been better. Well, every semester, we complained about almost everything in the world, but we still had to go through everything and this would be no different. Last semester before I go on to serve the country. Something which I’m looking forward to. I mean, graduating from school, not the latter.
Alrights, what happened remained in the past. Let’s look forward to a new and smooth semester!
Here we go! Jiayou!
Cheers!
Holidays Ending, School Starting..
Many are asking me! Yes I know, I’ve not been updating. “So much time during holidays, no time to blog?” Haha, somehow, I also don’t know why. Probably holidays were mainly spend on resting but not much activities happening around. I’m pretty sure I’ll bore people if I would go bla bla of what I do everyday. Okay, enough of crap. Here I am, some random composition.
My mother was calling out for me the other day, asking me if I still wishes to keep some of shoes as I guess she intends to throw it away. I was wondering what shoes she was referrring to and it’s actually my Football Boots over the years.
During my primary school days, I played my football with my school shoes all the while, be it on the field or the courts. I first bought my boots during secondary 1 when I wanted to particpate in the school’s inter-house football tournament. A normal looking one but it has served me very well over the years. Lotto was the brand and it just brought back many memories when my mother showed it to me. It’s still good and working condition.
This is the one! Total of 5 goals in that tournament itself, I remembered!

As I formed my own team later on in my later secondary school days (Maoists), I bought the second pair of boots. Umbro 50-50. Good pair of boots which actually lasted for many years, till there was a slight tear at the front.
Until recently, I just bought my 3rd pair and the current one I’m using. Adidas as expected and I’ve been scoring several nice goals with it. Hope it continues to serve me well!
Okay, my mother has not throw those boots away just as yet. I’m may not be the best player around, but I know I’ve enjoyed every game I’ve played be it which boots I’m wearing.
Last Sunday, my mother dragged me out of my bed 8am in the morning. Goodness, it’s Sunday morning! Well, being a good boy, I still managed to head down to Kusu Island with her. Taking the car, the bus, the ferry and of course walking, we did land our feet on the island with it seems like millions of people are there. A nice island, quiet beach and a good place to spend with your loved ones.
It was a tiring day with scorching hot sun, and also the likes of “aunties” overtaking during queues. They were very fast in overtaking, just like Lewis Hamilton in F1 race. Good day indeed! :O
Currently, I’m watching Gossip Girls. Oh yes, the new TV serials about high school students. Somehow in someway, I was hooked onto watching and I completed Season 1 in a blink. Thank god it’s holidays and I can afford to do that. Catch it if you can.
School’s starting and it has been a long break. It’s time to move your big fat ass, Louis.
Cheers!
Singapore FLYERR!
It’s been more than a week since I last posted something down here. Even during my holidays, it’s hard to convince myself to sit down and update this blog of mine. Well, holidays are pretty shiok boring to me. Time are mostly spent at home and somtimes out with families or friends.
Many have asked me to work part-time and look for a job since I so “free”. But somehow, for this holiday, I guess I just want to rest and relax. During studying semester, I’ve been drained out for projects and exams. Holidays is probably the best medicine for it and I don’t wish to tire myself of working. It seems no difference from school. Of course, money wise, it would be slightly tighter than before. Control spending for me. Gotta endure when I see things which I want to buy.
I went to Singapore flyer with my family last Sunday. It has been operating for some time and it’s time to make a trip down. Tickets of $29.50 each booked online. I’v been to Taiwan’s flyer recently and I’m looking forward to see how this magnicficient structure works in our very own country.
Here We Go!
The cabin is pretty big. So much space for you to walk about. Viewing the nice sceneries of Singapore.
Taken inside the cabin itself! It’s pretty stable and safe.
If you see carefully, that’s the F1 track below me! ![]()

This was taken at a park just below the flyer. Water Droplets!
People out there, given the chance, make a trip down!
Cheers!
Results Are Out!
Results was out the day before. Waited till for the website to be “less crashed” and managed to log in at around 1 plus in the morning. Heart was pounding damn fast as I know this sem’s results are very important.
Fortunately, this time, like finally. I managed to get past all. “Phew, a sigh of so much relief.” I was feeling pretty good in the beginning, but after which, I told myself, that’s the least I should at least achieved. Definitely, it’s a weight off my shoulders.
Congrats to those who did well! KEEP IT UP! For those who didn’t do that well, do remember that life do gives you a second chance. Chin up!
Cheers!
